Mr. Owl, how many tubes of lipstick does it take to find that just right color?

Answer: Too Many!

I can’t tell you the number of tubes I have purchased over the years trying to find a color that matches my skin tone. The color labels are a bit misguiding. And before I know it, I have quite the collection of shades that don’t work. When I do find one, I try to buy a few at a time before it gets discontinued-because that happens. And then I have to start the process all over again, adding to the hoard of almost-but-not-quite.

But I believe I have found a match!

Not only does it match but it stays on for hours! I drink a lot of water/tea throughout the day and find that most lipsticks don’t stick around (pun intended). They do stay on my cup really well though! <sigh>

So before I start sounding like a paid promotion (it is not and I bought the lipstick and liner with my own money), here are the color combinations that I have found to work with everything in my wardrobe (black, white, red and jewel tones):

• Colorstay Multi-Liner: Color 002 Dallying

• Colorstay Limitless Matte: Color 006 Manifest

I find these two blend really well for me without giving a harsh lined look. Nothing wrong with that, just not for me. And… the lip liner can be worn on its own when blended with a gloss. Love!
