In My Pink Era
I’m not sure how it happened, but I suddenly realize that my bedroom is pink. Or at least it is starting to look that way. More like subtle hints here and there but nonetheless… pink is starting to sneak its way in.
It started with a blanket and then a picture and then a rug and…
When I was a little girl, I remember my room having touches of pink with the typical French Provincial canopy bed. Frilly lace and all. At some point, I outgrew that. Or did I?
A few weeks ago, I got a wild hair to move my bed to the adjacent wall. Nothing major. Just a quick slide over and voila! A brand new look and feel. I think doing this stirred up a few things. The chi maybe? More like dust bunnies. This shift meant changing the side of the bed I normally slept on. Why? Because I wanted a nicer view looking out my window.
Did you know there is a masculine and feminine side of the bed? I didn’t. All I know is that after changing my bed to a different wall, I began sleeping like a baby. I even commented on it a few times. Enough that my phone must of overheard me (dontcha know). And all of sudden, this Feng Shui expert popped up on TikTok talking about which side of the bed is best to sleep on.
If you face your bed (standing at the foot facing the head), the left side is feminine and the right side is masculine.
Almost my entire life I have slept on the right side of the bed even when traveling.
Why is that?
This got me to thinking about my life and what I have had to do. It is no wonder I chose to sleep on the masculine side. Is it because I felt I had to take on that role with the people in my life? Now that’s a thought and a half right there!
At almost 58 years of age, I am embracing that pink softer side and I’m kind of liking it!
The color of frivolity lives between red and white. Pink takes all the passion and energy of red and tempers it with the purity of white, leaving us with the color of tenderness and affection.
